Øyvind Hasaas is appointed Chairman, BOD, REC Group Coordinator in Singapore. He spent his early years as Financial Controller in Saga Petrochemicals. From 1981, he has headed numerous divisions within Norsk Hydro ASA, starting from Financial Controller to Head of Business Development Hydro Agri, Brussels,  to Head of Hydro Business and Industrial Parks, where he was in charge of several “turn-arounds”, restructuring projects and shut downs as well as launch of new products and market segments. 

Øyvind has an MBA from University of Karlstad, Sweden and has attended management courses at IMD and INSEAD.

A perspective from the photovoltaic industry in Singapore

The photovoltaic (PV) and semiconductor industries share several commonalities. This presentation will give an overview of some of these common issues and opportunities, but also highlight some of the differences of these industries. In addition, there will be an introduction to the PV market and technologies. Moreover, REC and its plans Singapore will be presented.
